Singapore
Summary
Duration: 3 days
Climate: Hot all year round mid thirties when I was there (July) . Singapore is 1 degree of the equator. It is hot and muggy all the time.
Distance: Appox 30km all up. I was told the East Coast cycle path is around 55 km long all up.
Adventure 1 East Coast Cycle path. (Eastwards)
The East coast cycle path goes along the beach at Singapore. Where there are cycle hire places all along the path about every 5 kms. You can rent from one and leave it at another. From memory the hire is about $20 per hour. The other option is to use a phone app and hire ride share bikes that are scattered all along the path. My recommendation is not to do this because the app related bikes are all tiny. They are very difficult to ride any distance. On the map above I showed where I hired my bike from and I booked out hotel nearby because it was near this beach walkway. I would recommend this if you want to cycle and walk along the beachfront.
Here is the Strava Path I took.
Comments on this ride....- Hot but ok
- Easy with no hills and no wind (cannot guarantee no wind)
- Clunky but Ok bikes to hire.
- Beautiful vistas.
- Lots of coffee shops / bars / restaurants and tourist attractions along the route such as the water ski park.
- Toilets and free tap water every 2 kms.

Adventure 2 East Coast Cycle path. (Westwards)
This time I went Westwards towards the city tourist attractions. This time I rode one of the ride share bikes in the picture above. The cost was trivial I think it cost $15 but this was a set up fee that entitled you to 3 hrs of riding. As stated previously they are very tedious to ride as they are too small. (well at least for my 185 cm height)
Basically all the points I made about the previous ride are true regarding toilets and water. The Stava record of the ride is linked here.
